Security and efficiency are of paramount importance to embassies and other diplomatic buildings. When a major European nation refurbished its London embassy, architectural firm Hawkins Brown specified Safetell to secure the building.
The heavily frequented embassy provides a number of public services, including immigration services, the issuing of passports and visas, and citizen and consular support.
The goal of the project was to ensure the safety and well-being of the embassy staff without obstructing the normal activities that would take place during the course of a normal working day.
Embassy employees needed assurance that they would be protected from harm, including physical and ballistic attacks, without impeding their ability to interact with the public face-to-face.
Safetell worked closely with Hawkins Brown to develop two island-style service enclosures comprising 68 meters of bullet-resistant protection. Safetell installed 21 ballistic-resistant doors, ten interview windows, counterwork, cash scoops, electronic speech transfer systems, bullet-resistant walling, and cosmetic facing.
This system would provide peace of mind and additional security to the embassy staff and visitors in the building without hampering the flow of traffic or communication between parties.
With 25 years of experience working on major projects with banks, government buildings and embassies, Safetell was able to manufacture, install, and project manage every element of this project on time and to budget.
The embassy has benefited from the added security that perfectly matched the aesthetic of the newly refurbished building without impeding operations. Contact Safetell if you require any security solutions for your premises!
